|Creating fantasy art brings me into the worlds I imagine. Fantasy was always my favorite genre to read, but it was only in
the last few years that I started to paint the images I saw in my mind. I
hope that viewers will find resonance with their own visions of fantasy,
space, time and myth within my artwork.
I believe there is always much to be learned and I'm grateful to professor Roger Hendricks of Purchase College, SUNY for his guidance in many of these paintings.
I often will sketch the ideas for a painting, then look for reference images and models to bring the ideas to life. In the case of Black Dragon, seen here in a cropped version, I was fortunate to have a model who actually had these tattoos.
Please visit the other pages on the site for portraits, fantasy art, castle paintings, landscapes, or watercolors. For information and prices on purchasing original art, signed prints, commissioned portraits or illustration work, please email Linda Champanier. I have signed prints available of the paintings on this page.
