I strive to capture a sense of the wonder and mysteries I see all around me in my paintings. Surrounded by woods and fields, my home in the Catskill Mountains looks out on mountains with everchanging light. Many of my paintings have elements from the Catskills and Ashokan Reservoir.

At a writing workshop, author Charles de Lint said, "No one else will write your stories." His words inspired me to discover that the best way for me to tell my deepest and truest stories is through my paintings. Charles Vess taught me to think about what is happening outside the painting. I want viewers to bring their own stories and find their own meaning in my paintings.

When I paint, I listen to the magical wood flute music of Werner John. His mystical music opens the door between worlds for me.

Science Fiction Book Club commissioned me to create the cover art (see below) for The Firebringer Trilogy by Meredith Ann Pierce.
